Terms & Conditions – ‘Build-a-thon’ @ India Digital Summit 2026
BUILD@IDS (“Build-a-thon”) is an event organized by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and Adya Ai (“Our/Us/We/Organizers”) at the India Digital Summit 2026 (“Event”) to be held from 29th Jan 2026 to 30th Jan 2026 at Leela Bharati City, Bengaluru. By participating in the Build-a-thon, you (“You/Your”) agree to be bound by and abide by the following terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”).

Eligibility & Registration
- Participation is open to individuals or teams who complete registration through the official Adya portal. Registration is mandatory for eligibility.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that:
- The registration is complete and accurate in all respects and is easy to understand. Complex and complicated entries are likely to adversely affect evaluations.
- You respond timely and accurately to any queries that our jury may have in order to understand any issue relating to your entry.
- You comply with all the requirements for the entry.
- You, or anyone You are responsible for, behaves reasonably and professionally when attending the Build-a-thon and/or the Event.
- You, or anyone You are responsible for, do nothing that may bring us or our Build-a-thon and/or the Event into disrepute. Whatever entry/submission is made by any person under the age of 18 years, must be signed by the parent or the legal guardian of that person under the age of 18 on his / her behalf. And such submission should state:
“I, _______, the parent / legal guardian of _________, who is under the age of 18 years, am submitting this prototype on behalf of my ward _______. I herby submit that I alone shall be personally responsible and liable for any matters connected with or arising out of the submission of this prototype.”
- The entries must be submitted on or before January 20, 2026. No entries received thereafter shall be accepted (unless the date is extended by the Organizers in their sole discretion).
- Once the entry is submitted You shall not be allowed to make any changes to it, except to respond to any queries that may be required by the jury to better understand the entry and any information provided by You therein.
- The decision of the Organizers regarding the eligibility of the entries at the BUILD@IDS 2026 shall be final and binding.
- Data Sharing Consent
- By registering, you give Your express consent and agree to the sharing of Your details (e.g., name, contact, startup/institution info) with Adya and IDS Organizers for evaluation, mentorship, and Event-related communication.
- Information and/or any data provided in connection with the entries will be shared with the jury for evaluation and/or with any third-party vendors as may be decided by Organizers in its sole discretion. Therefore, please be careful in disclosing the information along with Your entries as Organizers will not be responsible for disclosure to the public of any of your confidential or proprietary information that is disclosed by You as part of the entries.
- You shall ensure that your entries are in conformity with applicable law and that nothing in Your entry violates the right or the intellectual property right of any person (living or dead) and You hereby agree to fully indemnify the Organizers for any breach of this provision. Organizers reserve the right to reject any entry without assigning any reason.
- Intellectual Property
- You retain all rights to ideas, code, and materials developed or presented at the BUILD@IDS. However, by submitting, you grant the Organizers a non-exclusive right to evaluate and publicly showcase Your work for non-commercial promotional purposes.
- IAMAI is the sole and exclusive copyright owner of the BUILD@IDS and the Event. Further, all the copyrights, trademarks, service marks, logos, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights relating to the BUILD@IDS and the Event and the content forming a part thereof and displayed therein shall always vest, worldwide and in perpetuity, in IAMAI.
- Recognition
- Selected entries may be considered for mentorship, subject to eligibility and approval.
- Certificates will be issued to participating teams as applicable.
- Terms and Conditions:
- Any decisions relating to mentorship selections/certificates made by the Organizer’s Jury are final and non-contestable.
- Mentorship and certificates shall be awarded purely on the evaluation criteria of the Organizers and each of the jury is entitled to evaluate the entries using his/her own opinions and understandings. You will not question at any time any mentorship/certificates that have been awarded to any entry. The decision of the jury regarding any mentorship/certificates shall be final and binding. You shall accept and abide by any and all decisions made by the jury. No queries with respect to the decision of the jury shall be entertained and neither You nor any other person or entity shall have any claims in this regard.
- Costs and Expenses
- You shall bear all expenses related to:
- Your Travel, visa and accommodation to attend the Build-a-thon or Event or final showcase. All Your expenses in relation to the attendance of BUILD@IDS and the Event such as airfare, visa, ground transportation, accommodation, meals etc., shall be to your account and Organizers shall not be responsible for the same.
- Development of product or prototype
- Internet, hardware, and software usage – the Organizers will not reimburse or fund any logistical, travel, or project development costs.
- You shall bear all expenses related to:
- Liability Disclaimer
- Organizers are not responsible for any technical issues, damages, or losses arising from participation or submissions at the Buil-a-thon or arising from attending the Event.
- Indemnity
- a.You hereby agree to fully indemnify and hold harmless the Organizers from any claims or disputes arising from any infringement, misrepresentation, or unauthorized use of any third-party material. You hereby agree to fully indemnify and hold the Organizers harmless from and against any losses, costs, charges, damages and expenses suffered by the Organizers on account of any of your actions or inactions while participating at the BUILD@IDS 2026 and the Event.
- Use of Name, Logo & Media
- a.You expressly consent and authorize the Organizers to use Your names, images, and submissions for promotional and reporting purposes without any additional compensation.
- Disqualification
- Submissions may be disqualified if found to:
- Violate/infringe any third-party intellectual property
- Be plagiarized or lack original effort
- Fall outside the scope of the Build-a-thon themes
- Or for any other reason.
- Submissions may be disqualified if found to:
- Right to Modify or Cancel
- a.Organizers have the right to change, alter, modify, suspend or cancel the Buil-a-thon and/or the Event and these Terms and Conditions at any time without giving any reason or prior notice to You and You shall have no claims in this regard. Your participation in the Build-a-thon does not guarantee continuation or awarding of prizes if the Event is cancelled.
- Liability Disclaimer
- Organizers shall not be held liable for any direct or indirect loss, damage, or injury arising from Your participation at the Event and/or the Build-a-thon.

Governing Law
- The Build-a-thon and these Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of India and competent courts in Mumbai shall have exclusive jurisdiction with regard to the same.
- Force Majeure
- Organizers shall not be liable to You in the event the Organizers are unable to proceed with the Build-a-thon and/or the Event due to acts of God, war, pandemics, fire, storm, floods, judgement or orders of any court of law, acts of terrorism, any force majeure events or other causes reasonably beyond Organizers’ control.
- Right to Amend
- Organizers reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions, rules, timelines, or prize conditions without any prior notice. Your continued participation implies acceptance of revised terms.
